I offer two types of binding, an elastic bandage and a cloth fabric. Each having their own timing and benefit to postpartum recovery. This service incorporates traditional belly wrapping techniques, combined with modern holistic practices, to help new mothers recover and restore balance after childbirth.

Elastic Bandage Wrapping & Cloth Binding Comparison

The elastic wrapping (vendas) involves an elastic bandage wrapped around the abdomen for comfort and a softer entrance into your postpartum for the first two weeks postpartum. Vendas are a specific type of elastic bandage used for belly binding, an ancient Mexican and African practice of wrapping the abdomen for postpartum support. They can be especially beneficial after a C-section by protecting the incision and reducing swelling. Elastic bandages provide gentle, flexible compression unlike, like the cloth wrap, and offers broader, more customized support. Cloth binding provides more structural support for postpartum bodies that can be worn for up to 12 weeks. Both methods are used for healing and support, but they differ in material, coverage, and flexibility.
