Postpartum Belly Wrapping & Binding
(In Home Belly Binding Session)
Holistic Postpartum Belly Wrapping Support is a specialized service designed to provide physical support, emotional comfort, and holistic healing during the postpartum period. I offer two types of binding, an elastic bandage and a cloth fabric. Each having their own timing and benefit to postpartum recovery. This service incorporates traditional belly wrapping techniques, combined with modern holistic practices, to help new mothers recover and restore balance after childbirth.
Bandage & Cloth Binding Comparison
The elastic wrapping (vendas) involves an elastic bandage wrapped around the abdomen for comfort and a softer entrance into your postpartum for the first two weeks postpartum. Vendas are a specific type of elastic bandage used for belly binding, an ancient Mexican and African practice of wrapping the abdomen for postpartum support. They can be especially beneficial after a C-section by protecting the incision and reducing swelling. Elastic bandages provide gentle, flexible compression unlike, like the cloth wrap, and offers broader, more customized support. Both methods are used for healing and support, but they differ in material, coverage, and flexibility.

Common Belly Wrapping FAQ's
How far do you travel?
I travel up to 25 miles from my home zip code of 30274. I charge a $20 travel fee for >25+ miles. Please your address to the zip code 30274 to see if a fee applies.
When is the first binding done?
For a vaginal birth I can bind you within the first 24 hours and as soon as 4 hours postpartum,
when your vitals are stable. Some of the benefits of belly binding are best in the first 24 hours. Binding also depends on access to hospital visiting hours but most binding will be complete within a minimum of 24 hours. Visits are always scheduled at your comfort and convenience as well. Many mothers wait until discharged so they can receive the full experience of binding in the comforts of their home.
What if I have a cesarean birth?
Belly binding can still be done with the bandages. We must wait until your vitals are stable and check
in with your healthcare provider how soon you can put on a binding. I recommend the binding to be
done before you first get up to walk. The binding is gentle around your incision and will support all
weight off of your incision when you are standing.
How long should I wear the bandage bindings?
For both vaginal and cesarean births I recommend the elastic bandage at least 8 hours daily and up to 23 hours for the first week and as needed for the two weeks following then continue with a cloth binding.
For cloth binding: At least 8-12 hours a day after a vaginal delivery and after two weeks for a cesarean delivery after provider clearance. Continue with cloth binding for the 4-6 weeks following as needed.
How will I know how to apply the bindings when you are no longer assisting me?
I will leave you detailed written instructions of each binding method, as well as practice with you and
or your support person during the binding visits.
How do I notify you about my birth?
Please call or send me a text message at 404-903-8563 once you go into labor so I can make myself available, especially if you want an immediate postpartum binding. If you are having a hospital or planned
cesarean birth, please text me once you have been discharged to schedule your binding session.
Do you have working hours?
I am available within 24 hours of your birth but availability varies and depends on the access I have during hospital visiting hours.
