Gentle touch and massage for your babee

Located in South Atlanta, Ga serving families in the metro Atlanta area

The uterus is a cozy but tight place for babees! And many are born with body tension, or asymmetric body/head positions, and symptoms that can mimic oral restrictions too. All babees need some time and help to "unfold" post-birth. And for babees with oral tension (possible ties), torticollis and other body tension/asymmetry, bodywork including infant massage is especially important. The whole body (Mind, body & Babee) is connected - so massaging or exercising one area of the body can help another part of the body, or help with breastfeeding, bottle feeding, fussiness, tummy upsets/digestion, diaper output, relaxation, sleeping, even sitting in a carseat, and more! And, facial exercises are wonderful for helping babee too.  When your babee relaxes you do too, honey!

Contact & FAQs

FAQs

1. What is infant massage, and how does it help?

Infant massage is a gentle, nurturing touch technique designed to calm your babee, release tension, and promote bonding. It’s especially beneficial after a traumatic birth or for babee facing feeding challenges like tongue ties or latch difficulties. It also helps improve digestion, reduce fussiness, and create a deeper connection between parent and babee.

2. Can infant massage really help with breastfeeding issues?

Yes! Infant massage can reduce tension in your babee’s jaw, neck, and shoulders, which are key areas affecting their ability to latch. It’s especially helpful for babees with tethered oral tissues (lip or tongue ties) or those recovering from a frenectomy. Massage promotes relaxation, making feeding more comfortable for both of you.

3. My babee had a traumatic birth. How will massage help with bonding?

After a traumatic birth, babees often carry physical tension, while parents may feel disconnected or overwhelmed. Infant massage provides a healing touch that helps release your babee’s stored tension while fostering skin-to-skin connection. It also empowers you with tools to soothe your babee, rebuilding trust and emotional connection.

4. What happens during an infant massage session?

During a session, I’ll guide you through gentle massage techniques tailored to your babee’s needs. Sessions are calm, babee-led, and flexible. If your babee needs to nurse, cuddle, or take a break, we’ll adjust as needed. My goal is to teach you skills you can continue practicing at home for long-term benefits.

5. How old should my baby be to start infant massage?

Infant massage is suitable for babees from birth to about 12 months old. It’s especially impactful in the early months when bonding, feeding, and calming routines are being established. If your babee has specific challenges like oral tension, we’ll customize the techniques to suit their needs.

6. Does infant massage hurt or overwhelm babees?

Not at all! Infant massage is gentle, calming, and babee-led. If your babee shows signs of discomfort, we’ll adjust the techniques or pause as needed. My approach ensures your babee feels safe and supported throughout the session.

7. What if my babee is fussy or doesn’t want to be massaged?

Fussiness is normal for babees, and sessions are designed to be flexible. If your babee needs to nurse, cuddle, or rest, we’ll follow their cues. Often, even small amounts of massage can provide comfort and lead to calmer moments over time.

8. What should I bring to the session?

Bring anything that helps your babee feel comfortable, such as a favorite blanket, Boppy pillow or toy. Food grade oils are babee safe to massage with such as coconut, olive or grape seed, and a calming environment such as music. I will provide a calming playlist, but feel free to use anything familiar to help your babee relax.

9. How many sessions will my babee need?

Multiple sessions are recommended to build your time over here weeks of so. This also depends on your babee’s specific needs. Some families notice improvements after one session, while others benefit from multiple sessions to address ongoing concerns like oral/body tension or post-birth trauma. I’ll work with you to create a plan that feels right for you and your babe.

Can you provide massage sessions for my babee at home?

Yes! Every session is designed to empower you as a parent. I’ll teach you techniques you can safely and confidently use at home to continue supporting your babee’s healing and bonding journey in person or virtually.
