Part of being a peer counselor is getting the #HotlineBling call for how to increase milk supply. I am an advocate in using foods to heal and that includes breastfeeding.
Oranges are a great food to boost your energy postpartum and while nursing. Oranges and other citrus fruits are excellent breastfeeding foods, since nursing moms need more vitamin C than pregnant women because we’re passing on valuable antibodies to baby when you nurse!
Oranges are easy to carry slice a few up and snack throughout the day. And key components in oranges is the water content which is effective in increasing milk supply.
Can't find time to sit down for a snack? Sip on some fresh squeezed orange juice as you go about your day -- we prefer fresh squeezed because of the sugar content in bottles juices.
